SPF: New house

189-01-january-8th-2017

It was her first night in the new house and Jenny knew that she should be excited. However, she could hear a faint noise that seemed to be coming from one of the boxes of the stuff from the old owners that had not yet been taken away. The grumbling continued until Jenny could no longer ignore it. She got out of bed and walked over to the box to look inside.

Three teddy bears were looking up at her with that blank stare of a stuffed animal.

Jenny turned to get back into bed and was startled by the ghostly figure of a young girl. Most children would have probably screamed that Jenny was fascinated by this newcomer.

“My name is Kelsey, and I used to live here. Please don’t move my teddy bears from their position at the end of my bed because they grumble so much if they are not just right.” Kelsey smiled warmly. “When I died my mummy and daddy promised never to move them that then they left them behind without instructions.”

The bears were moved as the ghost instructed and the noise instantly stopped. Jenny made sure the bears were never moved again.

      1. It’s a good film. Has Nicole Kidman and Christopher Ecclestone as well as … I can’t think of his name. He is a comedian that I normally get mixed up with Eric Sykes. Oh haha. Just looked up who it is, and it IS Eric Sykes.

  1. There aren’t many times when a ghost story can be sweet, but you’ve pulled it off.

Also, I think there might be a typo in this sentence: “When I dyed my mummy and daddy promised never to move them that then they left them behind without instructions.” Did you mean to use the word “died”?

All in all, a lovely tale! Not all ghost stories have to be scary 🙂
