Martin had been directing traffic at the local fete for such a long time that he had stopped paying any attention to what was going on.
“Morning, where do you want me to go?”
Without looking up from his clipboard Martin replied, “Take your space at the end of the line in row C.”
“Do you have a wheelchair?”
“No, but you don’t seem to understand that I need…”
Martin sighed and tapped a pen on the piece of paper. “If you want to go into the fate then you will need to park at the end of that row.”
When it came to parking the next vehicle Martin looked up to check the availability of space in row C. He was stunned to see that somebody had parked a horse in the row.
He was less surprised to see his P45 the next day.
