Eliza stopped pacing so she could whirl around and face the man in the room with her. Her blonde hair billowed with her movement. “What do you think it means?”
The man sighed. “You know as well as I do that dream analysis is not always accurate. Anyway, I would prefer it if I could go away and research the images that you gave me.”
Her fists clenched and unclenched as she tried to work out what to say. “I can’t afford to pay for another session, Doctor, so I need you to guess.”
He doodled on his notepad. “Offhand I do not know what it can mean looking through somebody else’s eyes. Can you not explain what you saw?”
“I told you. I was not looking through their eyes, as such, but more like I was inside the mind so it looked like I was looking through a telescope. I could see nothing out of the eye.”
Doctor Prichard had to smile because he was realising his experimental work on her was working.

Uh-oh, something dire is going on and she doesn’t even realize it. And even worse, it seems that she is PAYING for these sessions!

Absolutely. It was inspired by the book false memory by Dean Koontz

Ohhhh nothing worse than a shady consultant.
We often trust them blindly.

Of course we do, which can probably make them the most dangerous people. Thanks for reading.

Wow…what a horrible doctor! Still, I’m intrigued by this experiment he’s carrying out on her. What does he hope to find out, exactly?

Well, considering the book I based it on, I would say he is trying to find out the ability to control people. Thanks for reading.

A fascinating piece Angie. If I were her, I’d find another doctor. I don’t trust this one and wha he is doing to make them dream like they are in a mind, looking through a telescope. The end of your piece seems to have creepy and perhaps, dire, consequences ahead for this woman. Well written 🙂

She definitely needs to find another doctor. Although, maybe if she can’t afford to him he will leave her alone in the future. It is always a hope. Thanks for reading.

A wonderfully creepy story, Angie. 🙂 That is one doctor who needs to be struck off. Hopefully her finances have reached the point where he won’t be able to persuade her to come back for another session!
