When Nigel, the owner, returned from holiday to find out what his friend, Robin, had done in his absence he was mortified.
“What have you done?” He walked into the space that he had once considered to be classy, and glared at the offending object. “Why would you think that this acquisition would be acceptable to me?”
Robin set down the glass that he was cleaning. “To be honest, mate, I knew that you would not agree to have this here. You wait until you see what an impact it has had on the business. Our profits are going through the roof, and it is all thanks to our little friend here.”
Nigel frowned. “I don’t care what it is doing to our profit margins, I want it out of here.”
Before he could say anything more, a group walked in with the sole aim of playing pool. As they started to set up Nigel began to realise what the benefits of having something to bring in customers was.
It was decided, the pool table stayed.
