Sunday photo fiction: Attack!

134-12-december-13th-2015

“Aliens!” Barry came flying in the door, just about screaming the news. “I just knew this day would come, where mankind was going to be obliterated by a superior race.”

“What did you see?” Mary set down her cup of tea, and twisted to look at Barry.

“Those little green men are everywhere. There is one down the road from here. I am telling you, Mary, I was lucky to escape their attention.”

“How do you know that it was an alien?”

“It was fading in and out, and making this horrendous noise. I am telling you, it was definitely not human.”

Mary picked up the cup of tea again, and turned her attention back to the book she was reading. “Darling, don’t you think you are getting a bit old for this?”

“Why aren’t you panicking? We have to escape these beings.”

She turned a page. “You need to go and sleep it off. Barry, it was only a week ago that you thought that statue was following you. Just go upstairs and be quiet.”

“But the aliens…”

“Those little green men are nothing more than traffic lights at a crossing. Now, go upstairs and climb into your bed.”
