This is my week’s entry into this week’s Sunday photo fiction challenge. In this challenge we are given a photo and asked to write a story of up to 200 words inspired by the image.
This is the image that we were given this week:
and this is the story that I have written. It is exactly 200 words long.
Georgia looked down at the little bud that had appeared on the plant overnight. She was absolutely overjoyed to see that all the hard work had paid off. There was going to be a flower that would probably open as soon as the sun cast its light on the newly formed and delicate flower. Georgia was so excited to see what the flower looked like that he was tempted to pick it up and carry it to the other side of the garden where the sun already played on the grass.
Mind you, she did not exactly have the strength to do anything but watch and wait. So she sat in her chair and fidgeted with the hem of her dress. She could not help but to gaze at those petals and wonder just what colour was going to pigment the emerging flower. She sprinkled some water on it.
It was just starting to open when she heard the voice calling for her to move.
“In a minute!”
“You are needed over here, now. Come along Georgia, you know that the other plants need our attention.”
Sighing, the flower fairy flew away from the red flower that opened behind her.
