There are no words to describe how horrific this must have been for those in the studio who are watching, or indeed their loved ones who would have also been watching.
However, what it does go to show is what I have said for a long time. The idea that owning a gun is some kind of right for all Americans is just daft. Many will probably say there would have been a screaming progress, and that the gunman should not have owned a gun. This hardly seems to matter when everybody owns a gun, and all you have to do is borrow somebody else’s. Owning a gun is not a right, it is a danger. An incident like this only goes to prove that gun ownership needs tighter controls in America much like it does in the UK. Gun crime over here is not very frequent, and I believe that this is due to the difficulty in getting a gun. (It is not completely unknown, granted, but it is definitely less common than it is over the pond).
