They clutched at each other, but all panic had faded. Instead quiet acceptance filled that final hold. 

Love had swept over them, but the marriage ceremony had sealed their fate. 

Fishermen passed nets overhead, trapping lovers.

The vow spoken was until death would they part.

They had banked on longer.

  1. This is so original and fun and silly and heartbreaking at the same time! It reminds me of a “guess what actually happened” story about two lovers, Romeo and Juliet, found dead near some water and broken glass 🙂
